Some folks believe this is a method to communicate to the dead and talk to the other side of the veil. The Ouija board was created in 1886 where it was first manufactured. In fact, a coffin maker in the late 1800's was producing and selling Ouija boards on the side. It seems, in the 19th century people certainly had a different relationship to death than we do now.
