Often times these javelinas are confused with wild pigs however, they are a medium sized mammal native to South Central, and Southwestern North America. They have short, straight downward tusks that they use for defense and for tearing through desert plants like prickly pear cactus.
This skull measures approximately 9 3/4"x 7 1/2"x 8 1/4" with minor flaws but overall is an excellent skull on a beautiful wooden plaque.
