What is Vivianite? Better known as "Corpse Crystal" for some. This is an incredible crystal discovered in 1817. If a body ends up buried somewhere waterlogged, lacking in oxygen, and loaded with iron, the phosphate leaking from their decaying remains can slowly combine with the iron and water to form a mineral called Vivianite; a green/blue crystal. It is considered a relatively rare crystal.
Care and Storing Vivianite:
To preserve vivianite’s stunning colors, it’s best to store it in darkness. Light exposure, while enhancing its color initially, can eventually lead to a loss of vibrancy over time. Storing it carefully in a dark place allows it to retain its rich hues and prevents excessive oxidation.
